TSD Knoxville - School Opening Delay Announcement 8/6/2020

Superintendent Dr. Vicki Kirk has announced that TSD Knoxville will delay school opening until Monday, August 17, 2020. More information is available on the TSD COVID-19 Superintendent's Messages webpage. (English and Espanol versions of the letter and ASL version)

TSD's Reopening Schools - Guidance Document posted

Tennessee Schools for the Deaf (all campuses) is preparing for the re-opening of schools for the 2020-2021 school year following the planned calendar dates for each campus. After receiving feedback from staff and parents/families, the final "Reopening Schools - A Guidance Document for Tennessee Schools for the Deaf" has been posted and is available on the TSD COVID-19 webpage (7/29/2020).

TSD Schools (all campuses) Virtual Learning Plan In Response to COVID-19

For the 2020-21 school year, Tennessee Schools for the Deaf (TSD) families have the option to attend their designated state special school for the deaf campus or participate in virtual learning through their designated campus location. With either option, all students are expected to maintain sufficient academic progress. This document provides an outline of the procedures and expectations for families and students who chose to enroll in TSD’s Virtual Learning Plan (VLP).

Parents interested in enrolling their student in the VLP should review the Virtual Learning Plan and submit the Virtual Learning Plan Application - due Friday, July 24, 2020 - 11:59 pm.

TSD Informational Meetings for Parents & Families (all campuses)

Tennessee Schools for the Deaf will host Informational Meetings online regarding the re-opening of school for the 2020-2021 school year for parents and families July 7th, 14th, 15th, and 16th. Parents and families must register for each meeting they plan to attend.

28th Annual Educational Interpreters Institute Webinar: June 22-24

Join us and special guest, Molly O'Hara, on June 22-24 for the 28th Annual Educational Interpreters Institute Webinar. This webinar is limited to K-12 educational interpreters who live and/or work in the state of Tennessee. Deadline to register is June 10th. The cost is $30; payments will be accepted by check only and due by June 15th.
