Federal Programs

The mission of the Federal Programs department is to organize, manage, coordinate, and monitor instructional programs and special projects district-wide to ensure federal funding opportunities to the greatest benefit of Tennessee Schools for the Deaf.
It is policy of the Tennessee Schools for the Deaf not to discriminate on the basis of sex, race, national origin, creed, age, marital status or disability in its educational program, activities or employment policies as required by the Title VI and VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Title IX of the 1972 Educational Amendments, Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.  
Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER)
The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, Public Law 117-2, enacted on March 11, 2021. ESSER funding provides states with money that will used to safely return to in-person instruction, assist schools with curriculum and instructional needs, help improve facilities, and provide services for students that may be struggling due to the effects of the pandemic.
