Audiological Evaluations

 

TSD audiological services provide outreach in the form of comprehensive audiological evaluations of infants and children, ages 0-21, including:

  • Newborn hearing screening ages 0 to 3 (Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAEs) for initial and rescreens) including ongoing monitoring for at risk follow-up.
  • Early Intervention ages 0 to 3
    • Loaner Hearing Aids and Trial FM Systems through Friends of Tennessee Babies with Special Needs Loaner Hearing aid Bank
  • HeadStart/Preschool ages 3 to 5
  • School-age
    • educational consultative services
    • classroom amplification analysis
    • screening for auditory processing disorders
  • Consultation with families and professionals regarding the interpretation of audiology test results
  • Collaboration with private and clinical audiologists throughout the state to support audiological testing and ensure quality services for deaf and hard of hearing children
