Description
The Instructional Technology Specialist will assist the Technology & Communications Officer in planning and facilitation of faculty, staff and student training and development regarding use of technology and technology integration into the classroom. The Instructional Technology Specialist will provide curriculum on training for use of computers with educational activities; as well as curriculum for the purpose of instituting standards in computer use and its instructional applications in the classroom. They will also provide training on new and emerging technology and application as they become available to students, faculty and staff. In addition, the Instructional Technology Specialist will work with faculty, staff, and students to resolve technology related issues including but not limited to: hardware, software, application, and network connectivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop training curricula related for educational applications, computer use for
instructional application, and new and emerging technology and applications.
• Under the direction of the Technology & Communications Officer, assist with the design, development and implementation of classroom technology for instructional purposes
• Provide faculty and staff technology related professional development as directed
• Provide student training and support in the use of technology
• Deploy, repair, and maintain computers, laptops and iPad devices
• Application installation, support & training
• Basic troubleshooting of network login and connectivity issues
• Provide helpdesk support
• All other duties as assigned by the Technology & Communications Officer

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology or related technology field
• 2-3 years of experience in classroom technology development and implementation
• American Sign Language (ASL) skills required
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License

Preferred KSA’s:

• Ability to provide faculty, staff and students training that addresses technology skill levels at the most basic levels to more advanced levels.
• Ability and desire to work with teachers one-on-one, and in groups, to integrate technology into their classroom and lesson plans.
• Ability and desire to work with students to support the use of technology.
• Ability to develop training curricula for educational applications, computer use for instructional application, as well as new and emerging technology and applications for students, faculty and staff.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and then develop appropriate solutions while demonstrating strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and analytic skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills are required.
• Knowledge of Windows, Mac, and IOS operating systems, as well as laptop and computer hardware repair.
• Fluent in American Sign Language as evidenced by an Intermediate or above on the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI)
• The technology specialist must be flexible in adapting to the necessary workload of the position based upon needs of the school and as directed by the Technology & Communications Officer.
