Summer Institute for Educational Interpreters 2019

The Summer Institute for Educational Interpreters sponsored by Tennessee Schools for the Deaf is a four day training in June open to educational interpreters working currently in Tennessee schools on a first come, first served basis.  Teachers of the deaf and hard-of-hearing who occasionally serve as interpreters would also be given priority. Registrations from Interpreters working in other settings in the state of Tennessee and those outside of the state are accepted based upon availability.
This training is designed to enhance interpreting skills in the educational setting, so it would not be a good fit for those who are beginning to learn sign language. Participants should have a good level of sign language skills. School systems are encouraged to grant professional development points and/or in-service credit to individuals who successfully complete the requirements of the Summer Institute. Contact Angela Simmons at a.simmons@tseaf.org. For more detailed information and for the registration form, please see the links below.
Registration closed May 24, 2019. For cancellation, contact Angela Simmons - a.simmons@tsdeaf.org.
DCMP is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities.  This Professional Studies program is offered for 1.45 CEUs at the "little/none" and “some” Content Knowledge Levels.
