2008 Science Fair
Tennessee School for the Deaf’s High School, Middle School and 5th Grade Elementary students take part every year in TSD’s School Science Fair. The student projects include charts, experiments, demos, diagrams, and collections with a scientific objective or theme of interest. Projects are graded by judges from the Island Home community and TSD staff.
Each student receives a ribbon for participating in the fair. The winners — one for each division – are awarded and cash prizes and ribbons are given out. This year’s winners were:

We would like to thank the judges for this year’s Science Fair, Oliver Lang, Daniel Dooley, and Steve Magcos (Elementary Division) ; Ed Lynn, Chloe Chitwood, and Jim Staubbs (our Island Home neighbors) who were all great judges for the Middle School and High School Divisions. Thanks to TSD staff Barry Swafford, Jeanne Fair, Laura Bledsoe, and Steve Candino for their support and help before and during the Science Fair, as well as the maintenance department and the dining hall staff for some of the materials used at the Science Fair. It was truly a team effort! Congratulations to science teachers Sharon Brown (High School), Robin Letsinger (Middle School), and Shelley King (Elementary School). Your hard work and dedication to our students is much appreciated!
