Audiological Evaluations
TSD Audiological Services provides outreach in the form of comprehensive audiological evaluations of infants and children, ages 0-21, including:
- Newborn hearing screening ages 0 to 3 (Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAEs) for initial and re-screens) including ongoing monitoring for at risk follow-up
- Early Intervention ages 0 to 3
- Loaner Hearing Aids and Trial FM Systems through Friends of Tennessee Babies with Special Needs Loaner Hearing Aid Bank
- HeadStart/Preschool ages 3 to 5
- School-age
- educational consultative services
- classroom amplification analysis
- screening for auditory processing disorders
- Consultation with families and professionals regarding the interpretation of audiology test results
- Collaboration with private and clinical audiologists throughout the State to support audiological testing and ensure quality services for deaf and hard of hearing children
